Kinship care

Kinship care is home-based care provided by relatives or a member of a child or young person’s social network, that helps maintain important connections with family.

Wesley provides kinship care support services across the outer southern region of Melbourne, including the areas of Cardinia, Casey and Greater Dandenong. We provide a range of services in the local community for children and young people in kinship care and their families, including information and advice, and family support.

If you’re a carer living in the region we support, we’re here to help you. We assist both carers who are looking after children in the child protection system and those in private or informal kinship care arrangements.

We also facilitate a monthly support group and welcome all local kinship carers to attend, meet other carers and share your experiences.
