Carer respite

Providing care for a relative or friend is a rewarding experience however we understand it can also be stressful and exhausting at times. It’s important that you balance your care responsibilities with looking after yourself too.

Carer Respite is a time for you to have a break from your caring role, and is invaluable to supporting the care relationship. We provide day and overnight carer respite options across the eastern and southern regions of Melbourne.

To assist you to take a break, whether it’s to attend everyday activities or take a longer break while ensuring your loved ones needs are supported, we offer the following respite programs.

Wesley St Mark’s in Chadstone offers a respite house to provide a well-earned break for carers living in Melbourne’s eastern region. St Mark’s provides accommodation for up to six clients on four nights a month.

Our qualified team provides 24-hour care, active night staffing and stimulating day time activities for participants.

For around two or three hours per week or fortnight, this respite gives you time to yourself – maybe to meet a friend, go shopping, spend some time in the garden or catch up on sleep.

This service is available to carers in the following areas: southern Melbourne (Cardinia, Casey, Frankston, Greater Dandenong and Mornington Peninsula) and eastern Melbourne (Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges).
